More than 80 men strapped on high heels and walked in support of ending violence against women, including Burlington MP Mike Wallace! Together these great men helped Halton Women's Place raise $63,000! Incredible!

On September 18th, 2010 more than 50 men walked in high heels to show their support in ending violence against women. This group of men included MP Mike Wallace, Burlington City Councillors, Peter Thoem, Rick Goldring and John Taylor and Halton Police Chief, Gary Crowell, Deputy Police Chief, Bob Percy and Burlington Fire Chief, Shayne Mintz. Our celebrity walkers were Michael "Pinball" Clemons and his wife, Diane Lee Clemons - both inspired the crowd with their words.
This event raised more than $21,000 for the shelter! Thanks to all who participated! And thanks to Emma's Back Porch Restaurant, The Burlington Post, Stonegate Properties, Cogeco Cable, Alberici Construction, Laura Markey, Bay Gardens Funeral Home and Edgeworth Properties!
